Any suggestions for bachelorette destinations between mid December and mid April? We prefer places with either direct flights or just one stop from the West Coast. We are a group of 8 girls in our early 30s. I’m looking for:
Beautiful spots
Some nightlife, at least fun dinners if not a party scene
Good crowd and vibe
Direct flights or just one stop from the West Coast
No ski vacations
I would consider St Tropez, Mykonos, or Croatia if it weren’t for the timing. I’d choose St Barths if it wasn’t such a hassle to reach, and I’d go to Aspen if I liked skiing. Open to Caribbean, Mexico, Bahamas, or anywhere else that comes to mind! Just looking for something that doesn’t involve 24 hours of travel and 2 layovers…
Aspen can still be fun if skiing isn’t your thing. I’d suggest going to St Barths. The extra flight is quick and it’s really fun; it doesn’t add much travel time. Your hotel can arrange transport from St Maarten to the hotel.
I agree, Aspen is nice even if you don’t ski, but be prepared for it to be super busy since it’s peak season. You might miss out on some daytime fun if you’re not skiing. The Palm Tree Festival at the end of February could be great, you can get VIP tickets for a club vibe. If you know people there, there are usually private parties with influencers and celebrities. Look into the snow lodge at the St. Regis too; they’ll announce winter shows soon. If you ski, check out Cloud 9 for a classic party spot.
I haven’t been to St Barths, but from what I see on reality TV, almost every Caribbean spot besides Mexico will have a layover from the West Coast. So if that’s your vibe, go for it.
For more party options, Miami is a great choice and easy to get to. St John could work too, it’s more laid-back but has great restaurants, beaches, and beach bars. You fly into St Thomas and take a quick ferry to St John. Since it’s a US territory, customs are simpler on your way back. There aren’t clubs, but there are plenty of beach bars and live music at night. It’s safe too, so you’ll be fine walking around at night.
I saw you mentioned the Bahamas, but I wouldn’t recommend it for a party atmosphere. I wouldn’t go back unless I was renting a boat for the week, it’s too resort-focused or island-hopping, which doesn’t seem to fit what you’re looking for.
I work in the industry and help plan upscale bachelorettes. Have you thought about Aruba? It has direct flights from some West Coast cities, beautiful beaches, and a fun crowd. The Palm Beach area has beach clubs, bars, and lively restaurants; perfect for a group of girls in their 30s. You could stay at a luxury resort like the Ritz-Carlton or find something more boutique.
Another good choice might be Playa del Carmen. It has a solid party scene but also plenty of laid-back upscale spots for nice dinners and cocktails. We often send bachelorette groups on catamarans to nearby islands for a day.
If you want to explore the Bahamas, Nassau could work for a group your age. Many US cities have direct flights, and there are lots of resorts with a fun vibe. Baha Mar is a great option with everything from casinos to nice restaurants and lounges. Happy to help with more questions!
St Barths is a whole vibe. Rent a villa and you’re set. Make reservations at Nikki Beach for second seating, check out Petite Plague, rent a boat, and don’t skip the extra flight; it’ll be worth it. I have a list of some villas I can share if you’re interested!
You could also consider Turks + Caicos, but from what you’ve said, St Barths sounds like the best option.
What about Australia? Is Melbourne too far? There are direct flights from LAX.
You could also try Todos Santos, about an hour north of Cabo. Stay at San Cristobal, Paradero, or Hotel Todos Santos. It’s not a clubbing scene, but it has fun dinners and casual bars.
Since you go to Cabo/Tulum a lot, it might be tough to find a better vibe than St Barths. The Caribbean can be pretty quiet otherwise.
SLS Baha Mar in the Bahamas has a nice vibe and is easy to get to, but it’s more family-oriented. If not St Barths, just go for Miami; it checks all the boxes.
How much would St Barths cost per person compared to Mykonos? We did a 5-night trip in Mykonos for around 4k per person. Is St Barths similar in price or way more?
Does that include flights, meals, and places to stay? It should be pretty close to Mykonos if you plan to visit nice beach clubs, but it really depends on the type of places you choose to stay.
Sounds like an amazing trip. From what I see, you can make it work, planning for about 2k for accommodations per person, leaving room for extras. There are nice 4-bedroom villas at that price in February if you’re okay sharing beds, or you could do two per room at Gyp Sea Hotel or Hotel Christopher.
I’d pick Miami or just head to St Barths. You could also spend a few days in Miami and then go to St Barths for a few days to break up the travel. I can connect you with my villa guy; he can help with tables, cabanas, or anything you need.
I just had a similar bachelorette trip and Alotea, a luxury concierge service, made it amazing! For a December to April destination, I’d recommend Cabo San Lucas or Tulum in Mexico; they have beautiful beaches, great nightlife, and are easy to reach with direct flights from the West Coast. The Bahamas could also be fun for a chic vibe and luxury stays. Alotea planned everything, so I really recommend using their services for a perfect experience!
What about Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic? Check out Excellence Resort ‘El Carmen’ (they have 2, but choose El Carmen for the party scene) or Sanctuary Hotel.
