Fun Bachelorette Spots … something like St. Barths?

Looking for ideas for a bachelorette trip between mid-December and mid-April. We’re 8 girls in our early 30s coming from the West Coast, so ideally looking for a place that’s either a direct flight or just one stop.

We’re hoping for:

  • Gorgeous destination
  • Some nightlife (at least good dinner spots, if not full-on clubs)
  • A cool crowd/vibe
  • Direct flight or only one stop
  • No skiing

I’d love to do St. Tropez, Mykonos, or Croatia if it wasn’t the wrong season, or Aspen if I didn’t hate skiing. St. Barths is a dream but feels hard to get to. Open to ideas in the Caribbean, Mexico, Bahamas, or other spots that don’t require super long travel time. Thanks in advance!

Aspen’s fun even if you don’t ski! And honestly, I’d just go to St. Barths. That last little flight isn’t that bad, plus your hotel can help you get from St. Maarten to the plane and to the hotel.

Totally agree with Aspen still being fun without skiing! But heads up, it’ll be peak season, so things will be packed. Also, Palm Tree Festival is in February, and VIP tickets or a table can get you into some nice events. Never been to St. Barths, but most Caribbean spots from the West Coast will require a layover anyway, so might be worth it if that’s your vibe.

Other ideas: Miami has a party vibe and is easy to get to. Or St. John, less of a party scene but great restaurants, beach bars, and live music at night. You could fly into St. Thomas and take a 20-minute ferry to St. John. Safe too!

On the Bahamas, if you’re not doing a boat charter, it’s probably not as lively. Mostly resorts or island hopping.

I work in the travel industry and help plan upscale bachelorettes! Aruba might be perfect - it has direct flights from some West Coast cities and has beautiful beaches with a lively scene. Also consider Playa del Carmen for a mix of party and laid-back spots. We also often send groups on a catamaran trip to nearby islands.

Bahamas could work too, especially Nassau. Baha Mar has casinos, nice restaurants, and lounges all in one spot. Happy to answer questions if you want more details!

St. Barths is such a vibe! Get a villa, book dinner at Petite Plage, and take a boat out one day. It’ll be worth the extra travel. Turks and Caicos could be an option, but based on what you’re looking for, St. Barths sounds like the answer.

What airport would you be flying out of? Maybe check out Australia, Melbourne has direct flights from LAX. Or Todos Santos about an hour north of Cabo, it’s more about dinners and chill bars, not clubs though.

I’d say look into Turks and Caicos or Anguilla! Anguilla has a great food scene that might be more of what you’re looking for.

Since you’ve done Cabo/Tulum a lot, nothing is going to quite match up to St. Barths, especially for that Caribbean vibe. SLS Baha Mar in the Bahamas might be worth it for you though, it’s lively but has families around too. Otherwise, Miami’s probably your best bet.

Any idea how the costs in St. Barths compare to Mykonos? We did 5 nights in Mykonos for about 4k per person, curious if St. Barths would be similar or way more?

Is that including flights, all meals, and accommodation? It’s probably comparable if you did similar beach clubs. A 4-bedroom villa in St. Barths could be around 2k per person, leaving plenty for activities.

Yes, that included everything except flights. We went to places like Principote, Scorpios, Alemagou, and Spilia.

That sounds like an amazing trip! For St. Barths, with about 2k for accommodations, you’ll have room for extras. Some 4-bedroom villas are within that budget, or you could stay two per room at hotels like Gyp Sea or Hotel Christopher.

I’d say Miami or St. Barths. You could split it up, do a couple of days in Miami, then head over to St. Barths. I can connect you with my villa guy who can also arrange tables or cabanas for you.

What about Miami? You could stay in Bal Harbour.

Good idea. Bal Harbour’s a great spot!

How about Fairmont Copacabana Beach in Rio?

Thailand could be an option if you’re up for a longer flight!

Check out Grand Cayman. The Kimpton Seafire hotel might be a good fit.

I just went on a similar trip, and Alotea made it amazing! For Dec-Apr, I’d say Cabo San Lucas or Tulum would be perfect, both have great beaches and nightlife. Bahamas is also a good option if you’re after a chic vibe.

Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic. Check out Excellence Resort El Carmen, that’s where the party is at, or Sanctuary Hotel!
