I’m curious to know your thoughts on India as a luxury travel destination. Would you think of India as a great place to visit? Why or why not? Since India is known for its wildlife, would you consider going there for a wildlife experience?
I’m a wildlife photographer in India, and I’d love to hear about how people plan their trips to India, especially if they’re looking for a luxury wildlife experience.
I’ve been to Pench and stayed at Baghvan, a Taj Safari for 10 days.
The experience was incredible. We had a private chef who catered to all our needs. One day, I wanted cookies, and they had them ready in just 15 minutes! They asked every day what we wanted to eat and made sure we got exactly that. They even packed us amazing breakfasts for our early morning safaris. Our Canter was private with its own guide and driver.
The villas are small (only about 12) so every detail was taken care of. The rooms were beautiful, and the machan on the top felt like you were living in the forest.
The open-air shower area can be a bit scary because of monkeys, but we never had any problems.
We saw 8 tigers, 3 leopards, and even a snake fight between two king cobras!
For wildlife, Madhya Pradesh in central India is the place to be. There are great luxury accommodations near national parks where you can go on safaris. If you’re looking for a luxury trip, there are lots of options with excellent services. I’m a travel consultant based in MP and I plan luxury trips for clients. Bandhavgarh National Park has the highest density of tigers and other wildlife species.
That’s awesome! Where else are you exploring now? As for your question about India being a luxury travel destination, most people prefer mid-range luxury, but some want the full luxury experience with great stays, food, activities, and convenience.
I actually went to India for a photography trip, focusing a lot on wildlife. India was amazing for that. We went up to Ladakh and explored the region. I saw a lot of cool wildlife, including many yaks.
Ladakh is one of my favorite places too. The landscape and region are unique and offer more than just wildlife tours. Snow leopard expeditions are best done in winter (Dec-March) because of the cold, but the experience is unforgettable. Let me know if you’re planning to visit India again. I’d be happy to help plan it for you.
