Hi everyone! I’m a 28-year-old woman planning my first solo trip to Europe in early October. I’ve visited most countries, so I’m open to suggestions. I’m not really into historical sightseeing but enjoy fine dining, wine (I’m currently taking sommelier courses), hiking, and just relaxing. I’m considering a luxury wellness retreat that includes hikes and day tours, but I know that might mean less wine! My favorite area is Italy, but I’d prefer to skip the Florence/Tuscany region this time. I’m interested in places like Scotland or Austria! I love the idea of staying in a cozy B&B or boutique hotel. Safety is really important to me, and I’m not looking for a bar or nightlife scene, just a chance to meet some people.
Last year, I visited the Dolomites for wellness retreats, the Piemonte region, and Lake Como in Italy. I worked with a travel advisor who handles all the arrangements, but she only specializes in Italy and African safaris. You might also want to check out Switzerland!
Could you share your advisor’s name?
You can reach out to info@uniquebespoketravel.com for more info.
Which hotel did you choose in the Dolomites?
I stayed at Forestis.
Oh, I’ve heard great things about that place!
Have you checked out Saint James in Paris?
You should look at the small luxury hotels website: https://slh.com.
What do you think about Norway?
I’m curious about Norway but don’t know much about it!
Switzerland might be a great option! They have amazing wines (they don’t export much), wellness spots, beautiful hikes, and it’s very safe. I used to live there, and I’m a travel advisor, so feel free to reach out for more info if you’re interested.
Europe in October sounds amazing! The weather is usually nice, fewer crowds, and there are many harvest festivals and events going on.
There are definitely wellness resorts that offer great wine! In Austria, check out Hotel Singer and Hotel Tennerhof (both Relais & Châteaux); also Bergland Design Wellness Hotel and Posthotel Achenkirch.
I highly recommend Villa Cipriani Asolo. This charming hotel in Asolo is perfect for your solo trip. It’s a beautiful boutique hotel in a historic 16th-century building, offering a cozy and safe environment for female travelers. The dining experience is excellent, with fantastic Italian cuisine and a great wine selection, perfect for someone like you who is taking sommelier courses.
For hiking, there are many scenic trails nearby. After a day outdoors, you can relax at the hotel’s wellness center with various spa treatments. The garden and outdoor pool are lovely spots to unwind and enjoy the beautiful Italian scenery.
The hotel has a warm atmosphere that encourages interactions with other guests, so you won’t feel isolated. It seems like a good fit for your needs.
Let me know if you want more suggestions! I’m happy to help!
