Hi all – my partner and I are looking for a place to get away to for Christmas and NYE, somewhere in the U.S. or Canada. We want it to be beautiful, snowy, and relaxing, but NOT a ski destination – we’re not skiers and don’t want anything related to that scene. We’re in our early thirties and still enjoy a place with a lively crowd, though not too wild. We’re thinking about places like a spa resort or ranch. Montreal and Montana came to mind, but we’ve never been. If anyone has any suggestions, we’d really appreciate it! Budget isn’t a concern.
Lake Placid Lodge! We got snowed in there once, and it was the best romantic weekend ever. The staff kept coming to our cabin to stoke the fire, the lake is stunning, and it feels like a fairytale.
Travel agent here! I have a couple of great options. Feel free to message me for more details, I can offer some perks at these properties!
- Miraval Berkshires
- The Ranch at Rock Creek
- Fairmont Banff Springs Hotel
- Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge
Thanks so much for the info! The Ranch at Rock Creek and Banff sound great for us. However, I’m worried the Ranch may be a bit too small, and Banff might be too big. Do you have any suggestions that are somewhere in between? We’d also prefer somewhere adults only. Happy to message you separately for more details!
The Ranch at Rock Creek is cozy… small, but perfect for spending time outside the room. All activities and food are included. 4 nights is a great stay there. If you’re flying in from a far distance, The Kimpton in Bozeman is a good overnight stop before heading to the lodge.
Of course! Message me, and I’d be happy to help you research more options.
What about Quebec City?
The Lodge at Blue Sky
I can’t speak to availability or guarantee snow, but check out Winvian in CT.
Okay, this might not have snow, but I just got back from Primland Auberge in Virginia and was completely blown away! It’s perfect for a cozy mountain cabin experience.
The ski resorts are about 45 minutes from Montreal, so snow in the city isn’t guaranteed in December, though it looks like the forecast might be good this year.
