Hi all!
Trying to decide between Four Seasons and Montage for our upcoming Maui trip… anyone know if one is way better? Or is there a different place we should check out?
Thanks!
Hi all!
Trying to decide between Four Seasons and Montage for our upcoming Maui trip… anyone know if one is way better? Or is there a different place we should check out?
Thanks!
Wailea’s my top choice… I like the restaurants and beaches there.
The Four Seasons is my favorite of the options. Andaz has the best food and a sleek vibe. Fairmont is all suites with beautiful architecture, though the property is huge.
You should check out the Road to Hana, but be warned… it’s a trek and can feel isolated. Fewer options around there, so just a heads up.
I’ll be staying at both places at the end of the month. Four Seasons has some construction going on, but it might be finished by March. If I had to pick for the food alone, I’d go with Andaz. I’ve had clients stay at both, and Andaz always gets good reviews from them.
Fairmont Kea Lani… really nice hotel, usually around $1,000 per night. They tend to upgrade when you book, and the staff are fantastic.
Four Seasons is generally good, but it’s looking a bit worn. Seems like there’s some construction going on there, so maybe they’re fixing it up. Andaz’s food is amazing, especially for a hotel. Breakfast buffet’s great, though the rooms are pretty small.
If you don’t mind a short ferry ride from Maui, check out Four Seasons Sensei Lanai. Gorgeous property! Might be nice for a couple of nights.
My wife runs Scouted Travel (https://scoutedtravelco.com/) and can help you book if you narrow down dates and hotels. Her clients get perks like early check-in, dining credits, upgrades, etc., and she can make sure everything goes smoothly. You can also use her booking platform if you’d rather book yourself: Virtual Reservations Desk — SCOUTED. Just ask if you want the password to access it!
I used to live in Maui… I personally like the Ritz Carlton Kapalua or Honua Kai in Kaanapali.
I recently stayed at Montage and wrote a review here.
They’re two very different resorts in different areas. Who all is going, and what kind of stuff do you want to do?
It’s just my husband and I! It’s her first time in Hawaii, so we want to do all the essentials. We’re in our late 20s/early 30s and no kids.
And when are you going?
I’d probably recommend Wailea if it’s the first time. Maybe Andaz over Four Seasons because of the construction at FS.
We’re thinking early March!
Andaz for sure
Why Andaz? I noticed it’s 4 stars and not 5 like the others… just wondering.
The location’s amazing, great beach, beautiful lobby, and lots of free activities like kayaking and snorkeling. It’s close to Wailea, and they offer free rides to different spots. Their breakfast buffet is excellent too!
We walked to Four Seasons via the beach path to check it out, and honestly, it felt cramped compared to Andaz. We were really happy with our choice.
Thanks, this really helps!
Also, Four Seasons pool area is small, and the beach isn’t that nice. Andaz has multiple beautiful pools, and the service is top-notch! We were there during the Maui Fire, and they handled everything well.
I’m sold! Booking it for March now. By the way, any tips on reserving activities or anything we shouldn’t miss?
Great choice! When you check in, they’ll give you a schedule of free activities. Definitely sign up early for things like the guided kayak tours, as spots fill up fast. If you need a rental car for the Road to Hana, they’ll arrange transport to Avis. They’ll even give you a detailed map for the trip.
Every day we got snacks and drinks in the room, and there’s lots of snorkeling with turtles right at the beach!
Oh, and if it’s a special occasion, let them know! They’ll probably bring you a complimentary bottle of wine or champagne.
I think we’ll just say we’re celebrating life!
