What makes a luxury tour special to you?
Quick and easy booking?
Private rides?
Exclusive hotel stays?
Itinerary app to keep track of everything?
Or maybe it’s something else?
Personal touch is everything. Customized plans, exclusive access, and premium hotels are a must for me. And I can’t do group tours… it has to be private!
Agreed!
Exactly. Just seeing a group with a tour guide holding a paddle makes me feel glad to be on my own.
The guide has to be professional and willing to change things up a bit. I want private tours, and the option to pick different hotels than the standard ones they suggest. Transfers should be high-end cars, like Uber Black SUV.
I like that approach! I love when guides bring two plans and let me choose, or even switch things up on the spot if something catches my interest.
I want access to places not packed with tourists. A fancy car is nice, but if I’m stuck in a crowd, it’s a downer. A really knowledgeable guide makes all the difference.
Would skip-the-line access for busy spots, like the Vatican, interest you? What about paying extra for after-hours access?
Oh, for sure! I tried booking a private morning tour at the Vatican once, but it was full. Those are the kinds of experiences I’m willing to pay more for.
For me, in Italy, it’s all about:
- Private tours
- Luxury transfers (E-Class, Maybach)
- 5-star hotels
- Michelin or top-rated restaurants
- Spa days (especially up north)
- Private jet
- Summer: Yacht and maybe even a helicopter transfer to Capri
And sometimes I like renting a high-end car.
Sounds like you’d love a Ferrari track day up north followed by some local risotto!
Or a lunch at Lake Como!
Ever been to FEEL?
Yeah, last year. Didn’t do the full luxury package though… no jet or helicopter
Haha, fair enough!
Viator private tours have worked great for us! We’ve used them in Sicily, Malta, the US, Italy, Edinburgh, and more.
Viator’s good, but for top-notch guides, I think a travel expert is the way to go.
I’ve had great guides! I usually look for a lot of high reviews before booking. With an agent, I’d want to make sure they’re getting me the very best.
I’m all about private tours led by real experts. I took a Civil War tour in DC with a historian—so much better than a regular guide! I want deep knowledge, not just someone cool who knows the sights. A few local surprises are nice, too, like a stop at an amazing family-run ice cream spot that’s been around for generations.
That’s the kind of experience I like too!
